CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Mark Genovese

Mark has had over 30 years experience within the Australian Credit Union Movement. He has held several General Management positions with different Credit Unions as well as spending over 8 years at Australia’s peak Credit Union body, Credit Union Services Corporation Australia Limited (Cuscal). He is currently a Director of Cuscal, and Coal Services and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Public Accountants. Mark has also been involved in the Australian Credit Union Movement's development within the South Pacific and South East Asian regions, and domestic development activities within rural and regional Australia, including indigenous communities.

Mark is the son of a self-confessed “Credit Union junkie” - his father Alex managed one of Sydney’s most successful Credit Unions for over 30 years.

DEPUTY CEO, GENERAL MANAGER CORPORATE SERVICES
Danny Pavisic

Danny has over 30 years experience within the financial services industry having worked in senior roles with a major Australian bank as well as the peak Credit Union body, CUSCAL. He has extensive experience in product management and profitability, lending, credit and operational risk, compliance and operations.

He holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, is a member of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management. 

GENERAL MANAGER TREASURY & STRATEGIC PROJECTS
Adrian Finch

Adrian has worked in the finance industry both in Australia and the UK for over 35 years. After 10 years on the trading floor of the London Stock Exchange, he held senior management positions in Australia with prominent financial institutions in financial markets trading and Treasury roles as well as managing business development and key relationship management areas.

For the last 20 years Adrian has been involved with the Australian credit union movement, including over 10 years in senior management positions with Cuscal. Adrian is a member of the Australian Mutuals Institute.

                  

GENERAL MANAGER MEMBER EXPERIENCE & DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Jo Charles

Jo Charles has been working within the Mutual Industry for over 20 years. She began her career in 1997 with our Bank, where she has held a variety of positions in operations as well as sales and service. Over the years, Jo moved between frontline operations, customer service and administration roles, gathering a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience. In 2011, Jo was appointed a role in the Executive Management team. In her current role, she is responsible for Marketing, Product training, Insurance, Digital transformation, Product development and Gunthers Lane (Technology Hub in Bathurst).

Jo is a member of the Australian Mutuals Institute, has completed studies at the Mt Eliza Business School as well as the London Business School and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Business. Jo is currently the Secretary of the Marketing Committee, Member of the Assets and Liability Committee.

                  

GENERAL MANAGER SALES & SERVICES
David Gilbert

David has over 29 years’ experience within the Australian Credit Union Movement having worked for several community and industrial based Credit Unions. He spent the last 17 years as the CEO of Shell Employees’ Credit Union. He has been involved in many Credit Union industry initiatives and associations over the years including core banking software, IT facilities management and smaller Australian Mutuals. He has also spent time in the South Pacific assisting Credit Unions in this region.

He holds a bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) UWS , an Associate Diploma in Accounting and is a Fellow of the Australian Mutuals Institute (AMI).

EXECUTIVE MANAGER, CREDIT & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Felicity King

Felicity has over 25 years’ industry experience within the Mutual financial services sector with extensive experience in lending, team management and development, project management and business improvement. She has been integral in numerous strategic industry projects including mergers, core banking system migration, product implementation and process innovation and is currently heading our robotics automation project.

Felicity has completed a Diploma in Credit Management and is a Unity Bank NCCPA Responsible Manager.

CHIEF RISK OFFICER
Richard McMartin

Richard has garnered well over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, the majority in the credit union industry. Over these years he has gained extensive qualifications in areas encompassing lending, financial management and analysis, credit and operational risk, compliance and workplace assessment.

During this time he has held Senior Executive positions responsible for Loans, Collections, Operations, IT, Risk and Compliance and the introduction of Quality Assurance/Internal Audit Business Unit.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Kyri Karagiannis

Kyri is an experienced financial services professional with over 27 years’ experience in Banking and Finance. Kyri has extensive experience in retail and corporate banking in the areas of finance, treasury, credit, product management, marketing and sales support functions. Kyri began his career at Commonwealth Bank and worked across the retail and corporate banking divisions of the Bank for over 13 years.

Prior to joining Unity Bank he held the position of Head of Finance, Specialist Sales & Distribution at St George Bank and was responsible for the Finance and support functions for Transaction Banking, Equipment Finance, Trade Finance and the Treasury functions. Kyri holds a bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of NSW, is a member of the Australian Mutuals Institute (AMI) and is a Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant (FCPA).

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
David Willcox

David has over 30 years’ experience in the IT industry and 20 of these in the Credit Union and Mutual Banking Sector. Over this time David has held a variety of local, state and national roles in IT Training, Operations, Administration, Management and Executive Management.

He has gained extensive and varied experience from roles at BHP Central Research Laboratories, the Hunter Institute of Technology, the Australian Taxation Office, Companion Credit Union and MMPCU/Unity Bank. During this time being responsible for IT strategic planning and initiatives, including infrastructure design and security to operations and systems management. David has gained qualifications from numerous sources which includes an Associate Diploma in Business (Microcomputer Systems) from the Hunter Institute of Technology and is Microsoft Certified (Microsoft Certified Professional).

GENERAL MANAGER - CENTRAL COAST UNITY BANK
Darren Hooper

Darren commenced within the Australian Mutual Banking Sector back in 1991 and during this time has held a number of senior management positions. Prior to joining Unity Bank, he was the CEO of Central Coast Credit Union for 11 years, where he was able to build a strong relationship with Central Coast Council employees, providing a better banking alternative for their needs.

Darren has broad experience in finance and management and holds a Diploma of Financial Services, Advanced Diploma of Management and Certificate in Credit Union Management

GENERAL MANAGER - BANKSTOWN CITY UNITY BANK
Steve Vassallo

Steve has over 28 years’ experience in banking, finance and business management in the private and corporate sector. Work secondments have included interim executive roles and freelance consultancy dealing with SME and larger entities throughout Sydney and Melbourne.

He is currently a Fellow at FINSIA, a member of the Australian Institute of Public Accountants and the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia, holding a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Applied Finance degree.

EXECUTIVE MANAGER - OPERATIONS
Graham Burt

Graham has worked in the Mutual Banking industry for over 40 years and has held several executive positions, with extensive experience in banking operations spanning across change management, merger integration, service standards, corporate governance IT & finance.

He holds Diplomas in Commerce, Financial Services, Finance & Mortgage Broking and is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Public Accountants and the Australasian Mutuals Institute.
